Weekend Group Runners

A busy few days for Stephen Hillen purchases in Group races, with all running close and a little frustrating not to get into the number 1 spot.
Scottish ran a very good race in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup in Australia, finishing second. Brando followed up his Ayr Gold Cup win with a very solid performance to finish 3rd in the Group 1 Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot. He is something to look forward to in top sprint races next season. Finally Banzari produced a brilliant effort after traveling out to Woodbine from France for the Group 1 E.P. Taylor Stakes, finishing 3rd for trainer Henri Devin who has done such a brilliant job with training her this season.

Weekend Double for owner Tony Bloom

Librisa Breeze won another valuable handicap at Ascot on the weekend. A winning prize of over £100,000 added to his previous win of £93,000 makes his purchase price of 90,000 gns last October look great value. Purchased for owner Tony Bloom he went on to have double for the weekend with Penhill winning the Grade 3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle in Ireland. Penhill was also purchased at the Horses in Training Sale and they both look exciting prospects.
